Terms & Conditions

One Stop Services – Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to services and products supplied by One Stop Services. By instructing One Stop Services to carry out work, accepting a quotation, purchasing products or services, or otherwise using our services, the customer agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

We reserve the right to amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The current version will be made available on our website.

1. Ownership of Materials

Any materials supplied by One Stop Services remain the property of One Stop Services until payment has been received in full.

Where legally permitted and reasonably practicable, we reserve the right to recover or remove unpaid materials if payment is not made when due.

2. Masking Tape and Existing Paintwork

When painting or spray painting interior walls, ceilings, windows or other surfaces, masking materials may be required to protect surrounding areas from overspray.

The removal of masking tape may occasionally lift, peel or damage existing paint or coatings, particularly where the existing coating is poorly adhered, aged or defective.

One Stop Services cannot accept responsibility for damage to existing paint or coatings caused by the reasonable use and removal of masking materials, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

3. Fixed-Price Quotations

Where a job has been quoted at a fixed price, the quotation will include labour and materials unless otherwise stated in the quotation.

Any additional work, materials or requirements outside the agreed scope may be subject to an additional charge, which will be discussed with the customer where reasonably practicable before the additional work is undertaken.

4. Access Equipment

Some work may require scaffolding, towers, powered access equipment or other specialist access equipment.

Where access equipment is required, this will be discussed with the customer before work commences where reasonably practicable. Unless expressly included within our quotation or otherwise agreed in writing, the cost of such equipment will be the customer’s responsibility.

5. Silicone and Gaskets

One Stop Services cannot guarantee paint or coatings applied directly onto silicone, sealants, rubber gaskets or similar flexible materials, as these surfaces may cause paint to peel, crack or fail to adhere correctly.

Where appropriate, we recommend replacing or renewing silicone after painting or spraying work has been completed.

Paint applied to silicone, sealants, gaskets or similar materials is excluded from our paintwork guarantee.

Please ask us for advice before booking if you are unsure whether this applies to your project.

6. Colour Selection

The customer is responsible for selecting and approving all colours and finishes before work commences.

We may provide general guidance where requested; however, the final decision remains with the customer.

Colours displayed on phones, computers, websites, photographs and other digital devices may differ from the finished colour. We therefore strongly recommend checking the selected colour using a physical manufacturer’s colour swatch, sample or touch-up pot before approving it.

One Stop Services cannot accept responsibility for dissatisfaction with a colour that has been selected or approved by the customer.

7. Customer Access

Unless otherwise agreed, the customer is responsible for providing safe, suitable and reasonable access to the property, work area or items requiring work.

Any access requirements should be discussed with One Stop Services at quotation stage.

8. Wooden Fence Panels

On all wooden fence panels, we will allow for two coats of Cuprinol in all colours.

9. Existing Paint and Coatings

Our workmanship guarantee applies only to qualifying work and coatings applied by One Stop Services.

We cannot guarantee the condition, adhesion or performance of old or existing paint, coatings or finishes that remain underneath our work where their failure is outside our reasonable control.

Where removal of existing paint or coatings is recommended, please ask for this to be included within your quotation.

10. Five-Year Paint Spraying Guarantee

Qualifying residential and commercial paint spraying work carried out by One Stop Services is covered by a five-year guarantee from the date of completion.

Subject to these Terms & Conditions, the guarantee covers premature peeling or cracking resulting from our qualifying workmanship or application.

The guarantee does not cover:

  • normal wear and tear;
  • accidental or deliberate damage;
  • scratches, chips, dents or impact damage;
  • damage caused by third parties;
  • failure of existing or underlying coatings not applied by One Stop Services;
  • paint applied to silicone, sealants, gaskets or other unsuitable surfaces;
  • damage caused by inappropriate cleaning products, chemicals or abrasive cleaning methods; or
  • circumstances otherwise specifically excluded within these Terms & Conditions.

Painted surfaces should be cleaned using a soft damp cloth and should not be cleaned using harsh chemicals or abrasive products.

Wooden fence panels where Cuprinol is used are NOT covered by our five-year guarantee.

The original invoice must be retained as proof of purchase and will be required when making a guarantee claim.

11. Gloss Levels and Finish Selection

The following gloss levels are available as an approximate guide:

  • Full Matt: approximately 0–3% gloss
  • Satin: approximately 15–30% gloss
  • Semi-Gloss: approximately 40–60% gloss
  • Full Gloss: approximately 90% gloss

Actual appearance may vary depending on the product, colour, substrate, lighting and application.

For kitchens and other high-use or high-traffic surfaces, matt and low-satin finishes may be more difficult to clean than higher-gloss finishes. Generally, a higher gloss level provides a more wipeable and resistant surface.

Where suitable, a matt lacquer may be available as an additional protective coating. Please ask about this service when requesting your quotation.

The customer is responsible for approving the selected finish. One Stop Services cannot accept responsibility for staining or cleaning difficulties arising solely from the gloss level selected by the customer.

12. Payment Terms and Overdue Accounts

Residential Customers

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment for residential work is due in full upon completion of the agreed work.

Commercial and Industrial Customers

Commercial and industrial invoices are payable within 7 or 14 days from the invoice date, as specified on the quotation or invoice, unless alternative payment terms have been agreed in writing.

An invoice that remains unpaid after its applicable due date will be considered overdue.

For qualifying business-to-business debts, and where permitted by law, One Stop Services reserves the right to:

  • charge statutory interest at 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate, calculated in accordance with applicable legislation;
  • claim applicable statutory fixed compensation for late payment;
  • recover reasonable debt-recovery costs where legally recoverable; and
  • suspend or postpone ongoing work or services until overdue balances have been paid.

Where applicable under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, statutory fixed compensation may be claimed at:

  • £40 for debts of less than £1,000;
  • £70 for debts of £1,000 to less than £10,000; and
  • £100 for debts of £10,000 or more.

Continued failure to pay an overdue account may result in the debt being referred to a third-party debt recovery provider or legal proceedings being commenced.

Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights or remedies available to either party.

13. Health, Safety and Insurance

Our health and safety policy documentation is available upon request.

Risk assessments and method statements may be supplied where required, together with relevant purchase order information.

Our operatives are covered by:

  • £5 million Public Liability Insurance; and
  • £10 million Employers’ Liability Insurance.

14. Complaints and Claims

Customers should notify One Stop Services in writing of any complaint, defect or concern as soon as reasonably possible after becoming aware of it and, where practicable, within 48 hours of completion.

Complaints and claims should be sent to our head office at [email protected].

Customers should obtain a complaint or claim reference number from One Stop Services and retain this for future correspondence.

Where we attend a property to investigate a reported issue and it is reasonably established that the issue was not caused by work undertaken by One Stop Services, we reserve the right, where appropriate and agreed or otherwise legally recoverable, to charge a call-out fee of £100 plus VAT to cover reasonable time and expenses.

Nothing in this clause is intended to restrict any statutory rights or legal remedies available to a customer.

15. Customer Information and Data Protection

To provide our services, One Stop Services may collect and process customer information including names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses.

We will use personal information for legitimate business purposes connected with enquiries, quotations, bookings, provision of services, invoicing, customer service and the administration of our business.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and will not be sold to third parties.

16. Parking and Vehicle Access

The customer is responsible for ensuring that suitable and lawful parking and vehicle access are available for our operatives where reasonably required to carry out the work.

Where work cannot proceed because suitable parking or access has not been provided, we reserve the right to charge reasonable wasted-time and associated costs, where applicable.

17. Completion and Customer Sign-Off

At the completion of a job, One Stop Services may provide the customer with a satisfaction or completion sign-off sheet.

Where the customer or their authorised representative is present, they should inspect the completed work carefully and notify us of any visible concerns before signing.

Where a customer makes full payment without signing the satisfaction sheet, payment may be treated as acknowledgement that the work has been completed, but this does not remove or restrict any statutory rights the customer may have or prevent them from raising a defect that could not reasonably have been identified during the completion inspection.

Spray Booth Terms

The following additional conditions apply to items delivered to or collected from our spray booth or premises.

18. Items Left at Our Premises

Customers leave items at our premises for the purpose of carrying out the agreed work.

One Stop Services will take reasonable care of customer property while it is in our possession. We will not be responsible for pre-existing damage, inherent defects or damage outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in this clause excludes liability for damage caused by our negligence where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

19. Payment Before Collection

All spray booth work must be paid for in full before completed items are removed from our premises, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Payment must be made using a payment method accepted by One Stop Services at the time of collection.

20. Colour Approval – Spray Booth and On-Site Work

One Stop Services cannot make the final colour decision on behalf of the customer because colour preferences are subjective.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that they are satisfied with their chosen colour before painting or spraying begins.

We strongly recommend obtaining physical colour samples, manufacturer’s swatches or touch-up pots before work commences.

Once the customer has approved a colour and work has commenced, any change of colour requested by the customer may be treated as additional work and charged accordingly.

21. Protection During Collection and Transport

Customers collecting completed items from our spray booth should bring suitable protective materials, packaging and appropriate transport to minimise the risk of damage.

Once items have been inspected, accepted and collected from our premises, One Stop Services cannot accept responsibility for damage occurring during loading, transportation, unloading, storage or subsequent handling unless caused by our negligence.

22. Collection and Storage Charges

Customers are responsible for collecting completed items on the agreed collection date.

Our spray booth has limited storage capacity. Where completed items are not collected on the agreed date, we reserve the right to apply a storage charge of £20 per day, where the customer has been informed of the applicable collection arrangements.

23. Inspection Before Collection

Customers should inspect completed items carefully before removing them from our premises and should notify a member of staff of any visible concerns.

Where reasonably practicable, any concerns should be recorded before the items leave our premises.

This inspection requirement does not affect a customer’s statutory rights in relation to defects that were not reasonably apparent at the time of collection.

24. Missed or Unavailable Work Areas

Where One Stop Services has reserved a date or time slot to undertake work at a customer’s property, the customer is responsible for ensuring that the agreed work area is clear, ready and reasonably accessible when our operatives arrive.

If we are unable to undertake the scheduled work because the area is not ready or accessible and we have received less than 48 hours’ notice, we reserve the right to charge £300 plus VAT towards the reasonable cost of the two operatives allocated to the booking and associated wasted time.

25. Radiators – Leaks and Pressure Testing

One Stop Services provides painting and paint spraying services and does not provide plumbing or radiator pressure-testing services.

We therefore cannot guarantee that a radiator delivered to our spray booth is watertight or free from leaks.

We cannot accept responsibility for pre-existing leaks, internal corrosion, holes, hidden defects or other faults unrelated to our painting or spraying work.

Customers should arrange appropriate testing by a suitably qualified person where there is any concern about the condition of a radiator.

26. Inspection of Items Before Spray Booth Work

Items delivered to our spray booth will be visually inspected for obvious existing damage before work begins.

Where significant visible damage is identified, we may contact the customer and seek permission before proceeding.

Our inspection is visual only and does not constitute a technical, mechanical, structural or pressure test. It does not confirm that an item is free from hidden defects, corrosion, leaks or holes.

Bird-Proofing Terms and Guarantees

27. Bird-Proofing Netting Guarantee

Qualifying bird-proofing netting supplied and installed by One Stop Services is guaranteed for 10 years from the date of installation, subject to these Terms & Conditions and any exclusions communicated in the quotation.

28. Solar Panel Bird-Proofing Guarantee

Qualifying solar panel bird-proofing systems supplied and installed by One Stop Services are guaranteed for 10 years from the date of installation, subject to these Terms & Conditions.

29. Bird-Proofing Spikes

Bird-proofing spikes are not covered by our standard guarantee due to the nature of the installation and the use of silicone adhesive.

If bird-proofing spikes installed by One Stop Services become detached, we will provide one return visit per installation to reattach the affected spikes at no additional labour charge to the customer, subject to reasonable access being available.

This obligation is strictly limited to one return visit per installation. Any subsequent visits or remedial work may be chargeable at our prevailing rates.

30. Mesh Installation

One Stop Services will normally install galvanised mesh using a suitable plastic clipping system to secure the mesh to the relevant panels.

Where the clipping system is unsuitable, insufficient or additional fixing is reasonably required, appropriate technical screws or other suitable fixings may be used to secure the mesh to the outer casing.

31. Guarantee Claims and Proof of Purchase

Customers must retain their original One Stop Services invoice as proof of purchase.

The invoice may be required when making a claim under the five-year guarantee applicable to qualifying paint spraying work or when establishing the date and scope of other applicable guarantees.

Guarantees apply only to qualifying work carried out by One Stop Services and remain subject to the exclusions and conditions set out in these Terms & Conditions.
